New Beginnings, New Melodies: Tennessee Youth Symphony's Spring Semester Kicks Off
The Tennessee Youth Symphony is back in action for the spring semester of 2023 and they have hit the ground running. With over a dozen new members added to the program, the orchestra is stronger than ever and ready to take on new challenges.
Under the direction of Anna Maria Miller, the orchestra has been hard at work rehearsing for their upcoming spring concert. This year, they have set their sights high and are working on a truly epic piece: Star Wars for the Orchestra by John Williams. This iconic score is beloved by audiences of all ages and the young musicians of the Tennessee Youth Symphony are excited to bring their own interpretation to the stage.
The concert will be held on Monday evening, May 8th, 2023, at the beautiful McAfee Hall on the Belmont University campus in Nashville. The concert is sure to be a spectacular event, and the audience can expect to be transported to a galaxy far, far away by the beautiful and powerful music of John Williams.
In addition to the Youth Symphony, the Prelude Strings, under the direction of Melissa Edgingtion, will also be performing several pieces in their repertoire, including Orpheus in the Underworld, Themes from The Moldau and Brandenburg Concerto No. 3. The concert promises to be a truly memorable event, with an opportunity for the public to see the fruits of their hard work, dedication, and passion for music.
